Many international companies choose to organize their conventions and company parties in Barcelona. One of the most versatile and emblematic places in the city to host this type of event is the Poble Español, an open-air architectural museum on the mountain of Montjuic that is made up of 117 full-scale buildings that make up a typical Spanish village with its streets, houses, squares, theater, school, church, restaurants and artisan workshops. At Eventos Barcelona we organized and produced a Halloween themed party for a multinational company in this very special event space.
The objective was to transform the Poble Español greenhouse into a haunted hotel for a Halloween party, where workers would become spirits and interact with guests. We had to create an immersive experience that would transport attendees to a spooky place and keep them attentive and entertained throughout the event. Obviously, the biggest challenge was not only the setting and the transformation of the space, but that our characters were realistic enough to create this atmosphere of terror and mystery. And of course we achieved it thanks to our artistic production team with 4 make-up artists and 2 costume designers. In this “horror hotel” there had to be dark corridors, rooms decorated with creepy elements and special effects to increase the sense of suspense.
To interact with the audience and take them into this spooky world, we had 12 performers representing the terrifying characters that inhabited the haunted hotel (from pianists to cooks, from corpse brides to flight attendants). We also surprised the audience with a special show of 10 dancers impersonating spirits from the hotel. These event dancers performed a final show with choreography inspired by the classic theme from the movie “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” which helped create a unique atmosphere.
Undoubtedly, the most striking element of the evening was a table where the design team installed two marble heads (they were actually the professional singers dressed up for the occasion) that came to life to perform various songs to the amazement of the attendees. A WOW element that was the most photographed of the night. The sum of the spectacular characterization, the voices and the scenography amazed everyone and turned this international event into a memorable Halloween party.
